نام کامل روز جهانی زن "روز سازمان ملل متحد برای حقوق زنان و صلح بین المللی" است. در چین به عنوان روز جهانی زن کارگر، "جشنواره 8 مارس" و روز زن در 8 مارس نیز شناخته می شود. این جشنواره ای است که در 8 مارس هر سال برای تجلیل از مشارکت های مهم و دستاوردهای بزرگ زنان در زمینه های اقتصادی، سیاسی، اجتماعی و سایر زمینه ها برگزار می شود.
